Confirmation and Update of Foreign Worker Accommodation Address on FOMEMA Online Portal

Effective 7 September 2026, Employers and Panel Agencies must review and confirm each foreign worker’s accommodation address during the registration process through the FOMEMA Online Portal.

If the address displayed is no longer correct, it must be updated with the foreign worker’s current accommodation address before the registration can proceed.

The accommodation address is required to ensure that the foreign worker’s information maintained in the system remains accurate, complete, and up-to-date in accordance with applicable operational and regulatory requirements.

The accommodation address may be confirmed or updated through the FOMEMA Online Portal by:
a) Registered Employers (Individual and Company); or
b) Registered Panel Agencies

The Employer is responsible for ensuring that the accommodation address provided for its foreign worker is accurate, complete and current.

Where a Panel Agency confirms or updates the address on the Employer’s behalf, the Employer should provide the Panel Agency with the foreign worker’s correct accommodation information.

The foreign worker’s registration cannot be completed until the accommodation address has been confirmed.

No change is required if the address displayed is correct. However, the Employer or Panel Agency must still review the information and click “Save” to confirm it.

The address where the foreign worker is residing during the course of employment in Malaysia.

Employer Type: Company can create and manage accommodation addresses through the “Accommodation Address” feature in the FOMEMA Online Portal.

Employer Type: Individual and Panel Agencies may update the accommodation address for each worker through the “Pending Accommodation Address” section.

Only one current accommodation address may be maintained for each foreign worker at any given time.

The “Pending Accommodation Address” section displays foreign workers whose accommodation addresses have not yet been assigned or confirmed and require action by the Employer or Panel Agency.

The Employer should update the foreign worker’s accommodation address as soon as the worker moves, without waiting for the next annual registration.

This ensures that the accommodation information maintained in the FOMEMA Online Portal remains accurate and current.

Supporting documents are not required. However, the Employer remains accountable for the accuracy of the foreign worker’s accommodation address, even when a Panel Agency enters, confirms or updates the information on the employer’s behalf.

This feature is available only for Employer Type: Company. Multiple workers may be assigned to the same accommodation address, provided they reside at the same location.

The “Bulk Update Accommodation Address” function allows an Employer registered under Employer Type: Company to assign multiple foreign workers residing at the same location to one accommodation address simultaneously.

An accommodation address cannot be deleted. For an Employer registered under Employer Type: Company, an address that is no longer in use may be marked as “Inactive”.

Historical records associated with the address will remain in the system.

Go to the “Accommodation Address”, locate the relevant address, click “Edit” and change its status to “Inactive”.

An inactive address will no longer be available for the assignment of foreign workers. However, historical records associated with the address will remain in the system.

An Employer registered under Employer Type: Company may reactivate an address by editing the address record and changing its status to “Active”.

For an Employer registered under Employer Type: Company, the address may have been marked as inactive.

Check the address under the “Accommodation Address” and change its status to “Active” before assigning foreign workers to it.

No action is required before the implementation date. However, Employers and Panel Agencies are advised to verify and prepare the latest accommodation addresses of their foreign workers in advance to avoid delays during registration.

Confirming or updating the accommodation address will only update the foreign worker’s accommodation information. It will not affect the worker’s existing medical examination records or results.

A step-by-step User Guide is available under the “Bulletins” section upon logging in to the FOMEMA Online Portal.
