About FOMEMA

FOMEMA, For Who?

The year is 1997. The lack of a Foreign Workers Medical Examination System in Malaysia has led to our appointment to becoming the first and only comprehensive Foreign Workers Health Screening System in Malaysia on behalf of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Nearly three decades on, FOMEMA is more committed than ever in consistently monitoring the health status of foreign workers. This is done by leveraging on innovative methods to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and to ensure timely intervention for the detection of non-communicable diseases.

Our Purpose

At FOMEMA, we are committed to safeguarding public health and national safety through our robust Foreign Workers Medical Examination System, which operates within a comprehensive ecosystem of panel doctors, X ray facilities, and laboratories nationwide. This system is designed to ensure foreign workers meet the health standards required for employment.

Building on this foundation of public health protection, we are equally committed to fostering inclusivity and fairness. Our Appeal process ensures that every individual has a fair chance to seek employment, with each application meticulously reviewed on a case by case basis. This approach aligns with our ethical responsibility to uphold the health standards set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, while also safeguarding the well being of Malaysia’s populace.
