Effective 3 August 2026, registered doctors and X-ray service providers may submit selected profile update requests directly through the MERTS Portal without having to submit a formal request by email.
The function provides a structured channel for service providers to submit the required information and supporting documents, make payment and monitor the status of their requests.
This process applies only where the registered doctor and clinic or X-ray facility premises remain unchanged, and operations continue at the address registered with FOMEMA.
Registered doctors and service providers may submit requests through the MERTS Portal to update the following information:
Other profile changes will continue to follow FOMEMA’s existing procedures.
A profile update request may be submitted by following these steps:
From 3 August 2026, requests to update a clinic name, amend the registered name of the same doctor or update online banking details must be submitted through the MERTS Portal.
Email submissions for these updates will no longer be accepted from the effective date.
The service fee is introduced to streamline the processing of amendment requests submitted through MERTS Portal and to recover the administrative costs involved in reviewing, verifying, processing, and updating service provider information.
Requests received by FOMEMA before this date will continue to be processed manually.
The applicable fees are:
| Type | Fee | Details |
| Voluntary Update | RM 50.00 | Not applicable |
| Mandatory Update | RM 100.00 | RM50 processing fee + RM50 non-compliance charge |
Important:
A voluntary profile update request is submitted by the service provider as part of its responsibility to ensure that all information registered with FOMEMA remains accurate and up to date.
Service providers are expected to submit an update promptly whenever there is a change to their registered information.
A mandatory profile update is amendments required by FOMEMA following an audit, complaint, compliance investigation or another matter that requires the service provider’s information to be corrected.
FOMEMA will notify the service provider of the reason for the required update through the registered email address and/or MERTS Portal. An additional non-compliance charge applies to this type of update.
The additional charge applies when a profile update is required because inaccurate, outdated or non-compliant information has been identified by FOMEMA.
The charge supports the timely maintenance of accurate service provider information and reinforces the importance of submitting profile updates promptly whenever changes occur.
Yes. MERTS Portal will display the applicable fee and require your confirmation before proceeding with payment and submission.
Payment must be completed through MERTS Portal before the request can be submitted for processing. FOMEMA will only process a request after the payment has been successfully completed.
The MERTS Portal uses Fiuu (formerly known as Razer Merchant Services) as its official online payment gateway provider.
Fiuu supports the following payment methods:
Amendment requests will be processed in 14 working days after successful payment and submission of all required supporting documents.
Do note that requests are processed in the order in which they are received and that the processing duration may be affected if additional information or documents are required.
Amendment requests requiring payment will only be processed after the payment has been successfully completed.
The status of the amendment request may be viewed through the MERTS Portal.
An automated notification will be sent to the registered email address once the request has been approved or rejected.
The system will prevent further update request until the current request has been approved or rejected. The system will not allow another request to be submitted while an earlier request remains under review.
The existing profile information will remain unchanged in the system. Please review the reason for the rejection and address the matter before submitting a new request.
A new request may be submitted after the reason for the rejection has been addressed. The applicable processing fee will be charged to the new request.
Fees paid for amendment requests are non-refundable once the request has been submitted and processing has commenced.
Panel service providers remain responsible for ensuring that the information registered in the MERTS Portal is accurate and up-to-date.
If the rejected request relates to a mandatory profile update, the service provider is still required to address the reason for the rejection and submit a new request. The applicable processing fee, including the additional non-compliance charge, will apply to the new request.
A change of address is treated as a change of premises and is not covered by this profile update process.
Please submit an official request to cs@fomema.com.my and follow FOMEMA’s applicable procedure for a change of address.
Effective 3 August 2026, manual submission of profile update requests listed below are no longer accepted and must be submitted through the MERTS Portal.
